According to information from Le Matin, HC Fribourg-Gottéron already has agreed to a one-year contract with Ryan Gunderson. Dubé, however, denies that anything has been signed yet, but says: "He is indeed one of the candidates." The American would be the Dragons' first new import-player for the upcoming season.

Gunderson is currently playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) for Brynäs IF, for which he has appeared in 24 games this season and put up a total of 15 points (two goals). After two years in the KHL, the 33-year-old returned to the SHL in 2016. He is currently in his sixth season overall with Brynäs for which he already suited up between 2011 and 2014.
