"We always knew that this might happen. One of Davos' best defensemen suffered an injury and the Swiss team was looking for a replacement for that key position," team manager Jan Peterek states.

The defenseman in question, Magnus Nygren is expected to be out of the lineup for at least a month and Davos had thus indeed looked for a new import defenseman. Kundrátek will stay with HC Davos until the end of the season and should be able to make his debut for them this Friday.

Kundrátek started the season in the KHL, playing for the Kunlun Red Stars. At the beginning of December, he then joined the Třinec. He played a total of six championship games (one goal, one assist) and three Spengler Cup games for the team.
