According to Blick, Haas' agent Jaroslav Tuma has apparently made an offer to SCB as an incentive to let the forward go to the NHL: if they allow him to leave, they will agree to a contract extension with SC Bern, which would keep him there until 2021.
The 26-year-old centerman would thus return to the capital city if he were not able to make it overseas. Team manager Alex Chatelain, who, according to the same source, denied Haas' request last summer, remains tight-lipped about the entire affair: "I cannot comment on it. We certainly need a certain lead time."
Reto Kirchhofer (Berner Zeitung), already reported earlier this week that there were rumors that Haas would like to try his luck in the NHL next season. It remains to be seen whether SC Bern will let their most productive Swiss forward out of his contract a year before it expires.
