"There is a lot of interest from both Sweden and Switzerland now," Victor Backman reveals in an interview with hockeysverige.se. "And it is flattering." While the 27-year-old forward already discussed a couple of options with his agent, he has no idea yet what the future might hold: "I'm trying to be open."
It is, however, more likely that he will stay in Switzerland: "Actually, I think the league here is a better fit for my playing style than other leagues, and I enjoy it very much here," he says to the same source. "But I do not close any doors to either the SHL or any other league."
Backman was originally hired to play for the GCK Lions, but since his arrival in Zurich, he also suited up for the ZSC Lions in eleven games so far, in which he put up ten points (four goals). For GCK, he appeared in 19 games and recorded 27 points (eleven goals).
