Tristan Scherwey's original deal would have expired at the end of the 2019-20 season. SC Bern has now committed to the forward until he will hit the age of 35. It's the biggest contract - in terms of length - that the Bears have ever handed out.

His deal, according to Reto Kirchhofer (Berner Zeitung), includes an NHL out clause for summer 2020. Scherwey, who is a fan favorite, has been with the Bears since 2007. To this day, he has appeared in over 540 games for SCB, recording about 190 points.

SCB's COO Rolf Bachmann: "We wanted to set an example with Scherwey's contract extension"
