According to Bastien Trottet, editor at 1905.ch, Genève-Servette HC's president Laurent Strawson announced Winnik's two-year contract extension deal at tonight's dinner of the club's supporters.

The Grenats' head coach Chris McSorley recently told the Tribune de Genève that he wants to keep the Canadian in Geneva and that contract negotiations are underway.

Winnik moved to the shores of Lac Léman at the beginning of October after having been released from his professional tryout contract with the Boston Bruins. In 31 games for GSHC, he has recorded three goals and 20 assists.
