Gurtner signed a one-year contract, while Schweri will stay in Rapperswil for two more years until spring 2021.

Nico Gurtner, who is in his third season with the Lakers, started the current season with the partner team HC Thurgau, where he played 29 games (two points). Subsequently, the 22-year-old defenseman was able to establish himself in the National League, where he scored one goal and recorded one assist in 17 games.

Kay Schweri, 22, is currently playing his first season with the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. The former junior of EHC Kloten made his debut with EHC Kloten in the NLA in 2014 and then moved to the Canadian junior league QMJHL with the Sherbrooke Phoenix for two seasons. After that, he played 77 games in two seasons for Genève-Servette HC (four goals and 18 assists). In the current season, the forward has scored five goals and put up two assists in 21 games.
