In an interview with the Südostschweiz, the 40-year-old estimates the probability of playing for another season at 10 to 20 percent.

Future as a head coach for Sven Lindemann?

Last Saturday, in the game against HC Davos, Sven Lindemann was finally back in action, however, not as a player. Lindemann took the role of assistant coach, while assistant coach Marian Bazany had to replace head coach Jeff Tomlinson, who was absent due to illness.

"It was exciting, interesting - and it showed me: That's the direction I want to go." says Sven Lindemann, who then reveals he is already in contact with several clubs (the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers are not among them). Lindemann could see himself playing for one more season only in the Swiss League, for a club with promotion ambitions. In this sense, EHC Kloten, for whom he played 13 years, "would certainly be attractive".

Sven Lindemann, the oldest player in the National League, suited up for more than a 1000 games, with EHC Kloten, EV Zug, SCL Tigers, and lastly the Lakers, recording 445 points. This season, he has yet to collect a point in 20 games.

Saturday's game was also characterized by the missing handshake at the end of the game. In the instructions of the SIHF, it is stated that only in the knockout rounds (play-off, play-out and league qualification) there is a handshake only after the last game of the series. "The HC Davos and the Lakers were explicitly reminded of this instruction after the game on Saturday for the remaining games of the ranking round," says Manuela Hess, media officer of the association.
