The incident took place halfway through the first period of Game 3 in the quarterfinal series between SC Bern and the Eagles. 30-year-old Wingels was provisionally suspended for Game 4 and now has received additional disciplinary action, as the league has suspended him for one more game, issuing a two-game suspension. The US-American also has to pay a fine of CHF 3,790.-.
