Kapanen confirms interest in HCL's vacant coaching position

"Yes, I am one of the candidates," Kapanen confirms when asked about the vacant head coaching position in Lugano. He has one year left on his deal with KalPa, but "we'll see. It is an opportunity which would interest me very much."

Three other names are apparently also in the mix. According to the same source, Erkka Westerlund (former head coach of Finnish national team, former head coach of Salavat Yulaev Ufa), Hannu Virta (who had already coached HC Lugano for half a year in the 2008-09 season) and former HC Lugano defenseman Petteri Nummelin are also among the candidates.
