As of August 1, Marco Werder will lead HC Lugano as CEO and continue his work as head of the Bianconeri's youth section.

Marco Werder is HC Lugano's new CEO.

The board of directors of the Hockey Club Lugano SA conducted an analysis of their corporate structure and has come to the conclusion that they want to rely on a single CEO for the entire organization: The 46-year-old Marco Werder.

Since 2012, Werder has been the president of the Bianconeri's youth section. He will keep this position in addition to his work as CEO. "My passion for ice hockey and HCL, as well as my interest and curiosity for the different facets of managing a sports club like ours are a challenge that I could not resist," Werder states.

"Marco is a person who has the colors of HCL and ice hockey in his heart," president Vicky Mantegazza says. "He brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong ability to manage and motivate his staff." Werder will take over his new position on August 1.
