In a interview with the Südostschweiz, Gaudenz Domenig, president of the club, confirms that it is possible that van Pottelberghe will remain in Davos: "With our restructuring, I'm less involved in the sports business. Such decisions now lie primarily with the Sports Commission. The possibility exists. However, I have not received an application yet."

Van Pottelberghe, who was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings, is in his third season in Davos, however he played only one Swiss Cup game this season with them. For the rest of the season, the 21-year-old was loaned to a Danish club, the Rungsted Seier Capital, and to EHC Kloten in the Swiss League, where he posted a save percentage of 92.1% in 24 games. Currently, also Gilles Senn's contract is expiring, while for the next two seasons, HC Davos already acquired Sandro Aeschlimann from EV Zug.

Domenig, also reveals that Raeto Raffainer, the new team manager, will be available only from the beginning of October. If, however, the Federation can arrange his succession earlier, he will join HC Davos beforehand. Moreover, the president also confirms the report that they now have a shortlist of candidates for the position of head coach with three names on it and a decision regarding the coaching staff will be taken in the next weeks.
