In addition to Christian Wohlwend, who might in all likehood be appointed as HCD's new head coach, according to the Tages-Anzeiger, there are currently two number one candidates for both the vacant position as assistant coach and goalie coach.

As for the assistant coaching position, it looks like it will not be filled by Tommy Albelin. The negotiations with Albelin apparently failed, as the 54-year-old Swede has been trageting a dual mandate as assistant coach of the national team and HCD.

Instead of Albelin, still according to the same source, it is Waltteri Immonen who could fill this vacancy. The 52-year-old worked as assistant coach in Zug between 2008 and 2018, before he moved to EHC Kloten to assist André Rötheli behind the bench.

HCD's goalie coach Marcel Kull, who will leave the club after almost 20 years, might be replaced by Peter Mettler. The 38-year-old has been in charge of the Swiss national team goalies for two years. Prior to that, he held the same position at EV Zug.
