Will a shooting practice lead to more goals for the Lions?
The Lions were the team that shot on goal the most during the past regular season, but with just little success. A fact that the Lions obviously did not miss in their season analysis, as they have hired the Finnish shooting coach Jami Matikainen for two weeks during the off-season. Matikainen will look after each player individually and advise them on shooting techniques and material.
According to NL Ice Data, the Lions fired a total of 1,604 shots on goal during the regular season, but only had a success rate of 7.48 per cent - the second to worst value of the whole National League.
