"We tend to be looking for a defenseman, not a forward," SCB's team manager Alex Chatelain says to the Berner Zeitung. Moreover, he also says that the Swiss Champion will probably start the new season with only four import players.
After defenseman Aurélien Marti's departure to HC Fribourg-Gottéron, no other player with an ongoing contract will leave the club, the same source reports. Also forward Daniele Grassi will thus definitely stay in Bern next season.
As for their coaching staff, SC Bern will have to look for a new goalie coach. The Finn Aky Näykki, who joined the Bears in spring 2018, will leave the club due to family reasons.
