New structure for HC Lugano

After talking to several candidates, HC Lugano decided that the Swiss-Canadian is the right man for the position of team manager. As Vicky Mantegazza, president of the Bianconeri, reveals: "Hnat (Domenichelli) convinced us with a solid and visionary project and his ideas convinced us right from the first meeting."

For Domenichelli it is an important day: "I am happy with this opportunity for human and professional growth. I immediately accepted, Lugano is a reality to which my family and I could not say no, and the fact that the team has already been built is a positive factor, I can focus on the future." Domenichelli also revealed that they will lay low on the market for the moment: "Today is not the best time to buy a fifth import-player. If we move, we'll do it after the NHL free agency in early July."

Domenichelli ended his professional hockey career in 2014. Since his retirement, he has been working as a player's agent. He also served as HC Lugano's U15 coach this past season.

Moreover, Marco Werder, CEO of the club, also announced that Julien Vauclair will be the head of scouting as of the 2020-21 season, meaning that his contract as a player has been extended for one last season, until spring 2020.
