"I realized that I am no longer able to play to 100 % of my abilities," Kevin Romy tells Grégory Beaud (Sport-Center) when asked about the reason for his retirement. The forward has not been able to play an entire season since the 2015-16 season due to several injuries.

The forward is a product of HC La Chaux-de-Fonds' organization. He played his first National League game in the 2002-03 season for Genève-Servette HC. He only ever played for two National League teams throughout his career: HC Lugano (championship title in the 2005-06 season) and Genève-Servette HC.

Romy also played in seven World Championships and one Olympic Games tournament for the Swiss national team. In total, he appeared in over 200 games for the national team and in 840 National League games.
