Reto Berra's contract with HC Fribourg-Gottéron expires at the end of this season, His deal included an option for two additional seasons. However, the 32-year-old decided to test the market.

According to information obtained by Klaus Zaugg (Watson), EHC Biel has offered Berra a four-year contract. However, Steinegger only told him that the deal they have put together for Berra is "more than two years but less than five."

While Steinegger is not willing to reveal the financial side of things, he states that they made a very good offer to him. The Seelanders expect an answer from the goaltender in the next few days, as Berra wants to tie everything up before the start of the season.

In response to Biel's move, Fribourg's team manager Christian Dubé mentioned to Zaugg that they also have offered Berra a new four-year contract. Dubé also notes that the netminder has multiple deals on the table.

Two teams not having extended an offer are SC Bern and the ZSC Lions, as Zaugg continues. Both club's team managers denied being in the running.
