The 59-year-old will be at the end of his contract with SC Bern at the end of the season.

Will he stay or will he go?

As Klaus Zaugg writes in the Aargauer Zeitung, Jalonen told him that he knows what he wants his future to look like and has now asked his agent to implement said plan. Apparently, all should be settled at the end of October at the latest. Zaugg speculates that if everything goes right, Jalonen should sign a two-year extension with the Bears.

Be that as it may, team manager Alex Chatelain would also be glad if the matter was resolved as quickly as possible, as he tells the Berner Zeitung. The reason is simple: the contracts of 13 players are up at the end of the season and it is easier to negotiate when everyone knows what to expect in the next season. Additionally, SC Bern's entire training staff is Finnish. That would probably also change if Jalonen were to leave.
