"Joni is a strong goalie. I saw no reason to wait any longer with an engagement. We would have been active sooner or later anyway," says team manager Sven Leuenberger. Last season, the 28-year-old played for the KHL club HK Vityaz Podolsk in Russia, recording a save percentage of 92.2% in more than 50 games. Before that, the Finn had played for Helsinki in Finland, Skellefteå in Sweden and for the Calgary Flames in the NHL.
