HC Lugano has signed Alessio Bertaggia to a two-year contract extension and will have him on their roster until at least 2022. The 26-year-old has been part of the team since late-2014, when he joined from EV Zug. He already spent his junior time with the Bianconeri and made his National League debut with them during the 2010-11 season before leaving overseas to play in the Canadian WHL for two years.

Bertaggia has made 384 appearances in the highest league in Switzerland so far, recording 53 goals and 73 assists. This season so far, he has scored three times and added one assist.
