He has signed a deal with the Dragons until the end of the current season and will be working as an advisor.

Sean Simpson: Will he tame the Dragons?
Robert Hradil / RvS.Media

La Liberté reported earlier this week that Christian Dubé had narrowed down the field of applicants to two candidates: Sean Simpson and Ivano Zanatta. It looks like Sean Simpson won the race. However, he will not be the new head coach of HC Fribourg-Gottéron, but join the team as coach advisor. Christian Dubé, who has taken over after the firing of Mark French, will continue in his function as coach, with Pavel Rosa also staying on board.

59-year-old Simpson has been without a job since December 2017. Before that, he worked for the Adler Mannheim in the DEL and also for EHC Kloten from December 2014 until summer 2016.
