Kari Jalonen and SC Bern have sorted out the remaining details of their new agreement. The Finn will thus definitely continue his work in the capital city for a fifth consecutive season. No other coach has coached SC Bern this long since the introduction of the playoffs in 1985.

Jalonen joined SC Bern at the beginning of the 2016-17 season and has won the Swiss championship twice in his three years with the club so far. Under his guidance, the Bears finished the regular season in the first place in all three years.
