EV Zug's backup goalie Luca Hollenstein has signed a two-year contract extension. The 19-year-old joined the club's youth department in the 2015-16 season. Two years later, he made his first appearances for EVZ Academy. His first start in the National League came earlier this season, while also playing three games in the Champions Hockey League.

"We need a strong backup behind Leonardo Genoni, the clear number one, who is able to replace him at any time at present and become his successor. Luca has shown a very good season in the Swiss League and a strong U20 World Championship and, in the ongoing season, has already confirmed that he is one of the best goalies of his age group and is surprisingly serene for his young age", Zug's team manager Reto Kläy praises his young protégé.
