It's official: Niklas Schlegel leaves Bern effective immediately and moves to Lugano, where he will stay until 2021.

From Bern to Lugano: Niklas Schlegel

The 25-year-old has dissolved his contract with SC Bern and will join HC Lugano on Thursday, as Klaus Zaugg (Watson) already reported earlier today. With Lugano, Schlegel has signed a contract, which will keep him in the Ticino until the end of the 2020-21 season.

In addition to the signing of Schlegel, HC Lugano has also inked their backup goaltender Stefan Müller to a contract extension. The Austrian, who is in possession of a Swiss player's license, will be a Bianconero until 2022.

As a consequence of Niklas Schlegel's arrival from Bern, Dennis Saikkonen's tryout is over. The 27-year-old goalie has to leave Lugano empty-handed.
