Elien Paupe is currently backing up EHC Biel's starting goaltender Jonas Hiller. As Hiller has announced his retirement at the end of the season, there is the threat of a vacuum on the Seelander's goalie position. A threat that has now somewhat been reduced with the extension of Paupe's contract.
The young goaltender made his debut in the National League in the 2017-18 season. This season, he appeared in six games for EHCB, in which he posted a save percentage of 91.67%.
