Severin Blindenbacher has extended his contract with the ZSC Lions for an additional year. A member of the club since 2005 - interrupted by a two-year stint in Sweden and North America -, the defenseman is currently in his 13th season with the Lions.

"After several injuries, Severin has rallied and reached a good level this season. His understanding of the game and offensive qualities are still good. Moreover, 'Blindis' desire and delight in hockey are still present", team manager Sven Leuenberger states.

The 36-year-old has made a total of 824 National League games for EHC Kloten and the Lions, recording 89 goals and 218 assists. With Zurich, he has won three national championships (2008, 2012, 2014), the Swiss Cup (2016) and the Champions Hockey League (2009). He was also part of the 2013 silver-medal winning Swiss national team.
