National League

Ten games before the end of the regular season, the Bears are out of a playoff spot and Kari Jalonen might be out of time to turn this ship around.

Kari Jalonen and SC Bern: a doomed love story?
Robert Hradil / RvS.Media

Asked by the Berner Zeitung about whether the Finnish coach would still be coaching the team in the game against the SCL Tigers, CEO Mark Lüthi had this to say: "What can I say? As of today, yes."

He does, however, not exclude the possibility that change might be on the horizon: "I can't tell you now. I assume Kari will be coaching this weekend. But you know how our business works - it goes fast sometimes."

The standings of the National League are still pretty close. SC Bern is one point out of a playoff spot with ten games left to go. They have two important games against HC Ambrì-Piotta (two points behind the bears in the standings) and the SCL Tigers (one point ahead of them) coming up this week. It seems like this week might determine the future of Jalonen.
