According to the Finnish portal Jatkoaika.com, defenseman Topi Jaakola will be joining the ZSC Lions for the remainder of the season. The 36-year-old is currently with the Lahden Pelicans and has been part of the Liiga-team since last summer. In joining the Lions, Jaakola would fulfill the club's desire for another import defenseman. He does not figure in the Pelicans' lineup for their game tonight.

Throughout his career so far, the Finn has played for different teams in the Liiga, the SHL and the KHL. He used to take part in quite a lot of World Championships for his home country, his last one in 2017. In the last three years, he has not suited up for the national team anymore.
