In view of the upcoming season, according to hockeysverige.se, the Seelanders have picked up scent of three Swedish defensemen.

Christian Djoos, 25, spent most of the 2019-20 season playing with the Washington Capitals AHL affiliate team, the Hershey Bears, before he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks on February 24. Overall, the Caps' 2012 draft pick has suited up in 142 NHL games, recording five goals and 22 assists.

Joel Persson, 26, is currently also part of the Anaheim Ducks organization after being traded from the Edmonton Oilers on February 24, 2020. In his first very first year in North America, Persson has played in 13 NHL games with the Oilers (two assists) as well as 32 games in the AHL, scoring 16 points.

Gustav Forsling, 23, was signed to an entry-level deal by the Chicago Blackhawks in May 2015 and appeared in a total of 122 NHL games for them (eight goals, 19 assists). At the end of June last year, he was then acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes. Ever since, he has played in 57 games for their AHL affiliate team, the Charlotte Checkers, recording 26 points.

All three Swedes are currently in possession of expiring contracts.
