The 33-year-old defenseman and his family are currently waiting for their visa in order to be able to emigrate to Canada.

Blick reported a couple of days ago that Ralph Stalder might play another season if their emigration plans would not work due to Covid-19. As he now tells the Freiburger Nachrichten, it looks like everything should work out for him and his family.

"I spoke to my lawyer. I think, it'll be granted. However, we may not be able to enter the country immediately. Only if nothing were to happen, I would have to look further. Because if I stay here, I'm certainly not doing nothing," Stalder said, when asked if he really plans to stay another season. He also adds that he is currently not talking to or looking for a team.

The defenseman was a member of HC Fribourg-Gottéron for the last four years. Prior to that, he played multiple seasons with Lausanne HC and EHC Basel, while also making appearances for EHC Biel, EHC Olten, SC Langenthal and Genève-Servette HC.
