The president of HC Davos, Gaudenz Domenig, sees a silver lining in this difficult time: the clubs will become more financially stable.

Survival until October is ensured for HC Davos.

Interviewed by the Südostschweiz, Domenig gives an insight into the current events at HC Davos: "So far we have enough liquidity to survive but it's becoming increasingly difficult. The loss of income from the playoff games is hurting, however, we can digest them to a certain extent."

Domenig also discusses the possibility of players cutting their own wages in these months: "For the moment we have been working without wage reductions. As with other clubs, the players have fixed contracts where the legal means for a loss of wages are missing. However, we assume that the players would be willing to help if it was "a matter of life and death". Discussions like this one are only just beginning for us."

Even though the club has enough liquidity at the moment, for the survival of the club on its own means it is crucial to start the season in October at the latest: "If we play normally from September onwards and with spectators, we can survive the summer. If we can't start playing with spectators in September or October at the latest, it will be very difficult. Our reserves will not last any longer. Then we too would be dependent on the federal loans."
