Whereas the two forwards are not invited to the training camp of their respective NHL teams, the defenseman has been selected for this phase.

Out of three new import-players reportedly coming from overseas, Lausanne HC might soon officially announce two: Cory Conacher and Brian Gibbons. As both will not participate in the training camps of Tampa Bay Lightning and, respectively, Carolina Hurricanes, their season is theoretically over. According to Grégory Beaud (Sport-Center), this means that an announcement from Lausanne regarding the signing of the two forwards is imminent.

For Mark Barberio the situation is different, as he has been invited from the Colorado Avalanche to participate in their training camp. Depending on whether the defender will indeed be part of the team traveling to Edmonton for the playoffs, and on how far the Avs will go in the competition, Lausanne HC might begin the season without the 30-year-old. This will obviously also depend on if the 2020-21 season in Switzerland will begin in September as planned, or only at a later date.
