The Washington Capitals have loaned the forward to the Grenats until the NHL-season is set to start.

Drafted by the Washington Capitals in 2016, Damien Riat was signed to an ELC back in March. Due to the late start of the season overseas, the Caps have decided to loan the 23-year-old to Genève-Servette HC. He will be recalled once the NHL is ready to go again.

Riat spent the last two years with EHC Biel. Prior to that, he was with the Grenats from 2015 until 2018. He also spent most of his junior time in Geneva, apart from two years in Canada and one year in Sweden.
