The SCL Tigers played their first game of the season with only one import player.

Eero Elo is yet to be signed for the 2020-21 season.

Ben Maxwell was the only import player suiting up for the Tigers last night as Robbie Earl is still out with a concussion. As Klaus Zaugg (Watson) reports, club officials worry whether he will be able to return at all.

This puts the spotlight on Eero Elo, the Finnish forward who has yet to sign a new contract. The 30-year-old reportedly wants to stay in Langnau. And even though Elo might soon accept a salary which will match the Tigers' financial means, they are, at the moment, still unable to sign him due to their hiring freeze.

But, as Zaugg reports, Elo might have a chance with SC Langenthal instead, as team manager Kevin Schläpfer is apparently "thinking about acquiring" the forward. The Swiss League team has yet to sign an import player for the 2020-21 season.
