"It is a great honor that Joe chose to be with us for a third time in his incredible career" states Raeto Raffainer, team manager of HC Davos. "And from what I have seen of him in practice, he is absolutely capable to help our team. His puck control and his pass quality is still on an enormously high level. It will be a great pleasure for all hockey fans, to see him play in Switzerland again".
Joe Thornton is looking forward to playing for HCD: "It will be a lot of fun to play for HC Davos in the championship again. The boys and I have been training together all summer and I am looking forward to compete hard again."
If all administrative details will be settled in time, Thornton might already play his first home game against the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers on October 17.
