National League

CH Media (published in Schweiz am Wochenende) looked into who had applied for loans ever since the Federal Council decided to grant interest-free loans back in March.

One of the teams that applied for a loan of CHF 2.4 million was HC Ambrì-Piotta. The auditor Ernst & Young came, however, to the conclusion that the National League team had not taken every road possible to solve their problems themselves and thus refused to make a payment to them.

Lausanne HC also requested money from the Federal Office of Sports. They asked for CHF 5 million. While they did not get the requested amount, CHF 2.2 million in emergency aid was transferred to them at the end of June. As Klaus Zaugg (Watson) reported yesterday that was a move that caused some controversy, especially because the team has been pretty active on the market.
