Following the departure of Gaëtan Haas to the NHL, SC Bern has freed up some money that was now invested in Jesper Olofsson.

The forward spent the last two seasons in the SHL with Färjestad BK. For the 2020-21 season, he signed a deal with the Rochester Americans back in May. The championship of the AHL, however, has not started, therefore Olofsson has not been playing since the end of the last season.

Olofsson will practice with SCB for the first time on December 29 when the team returns from quarantine and will be available for the first time for the game on December 30 against the SCL Tigers.

The brother of the Buffalo Sabres' Victor Olofsson has played in the SHL, the top Swedish league, for the last five years and has collected 142 points (77 goals and 65 assists) in 296 SHL games.
