EV Zug confirmed yesterday that they have applied for the so-called "à-fonds-perdu" subsidies. Other teams will follow.

As Peter Zahner, CEO of the ZSC Lions, confirms to the Tages-Anzeiger, the Lions will also apply for the subsidies. In mid-December, the club had announced that they would make a decision about whether to apply for them in January.

On the other side of the country, Hubert Waeber, president of HC Fribourg-Gottéron, still hopes that they will not have to make use of those subsidies, given the conditions that are tied to them.

As he tells the Freiburger Nachrichten, it is conceivable that they might ask their sponsors and fans again to forego money in order to not have to make use of the subsidies: "This way we could consider paying back the "à-fonds-perdu" subsidies that have already been distributed."
