As Petr Svoboda, Lausanne HC's Director of Hockey Operations, confirms to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, he expects their deficit in the 2020-21 season to be "north" of CHF 12 million. A deficit which the three owners - Svoboda, Zdenek Bakala, and Gregory Finger - will have to cover. The club has not applied for state subsidies due to the conditions that are tied to them.

To fill the hole in LHC's finances, however, does not seem to be a problem for them. The deficit, Svoboda says to the NZZ, does not change anything about their goals in Lausanne: "Our project is designed for the long term." The main goal: leading the club to the championship title.
