Although the deal has not been officially announced by the club, Lausanne HC's Director of Hockey Operations Petr Svoboda essentially confirmed the deal to 24 heures by stating that he sees Cory Emmerton as an excellent team player: "He's not the import-player who scores the most goals, but he's damn useful and does a great job."

Emmerton arrived in Lausanne from the KHL during the 2018-19 season. In 106 National League games with the Lions, the 32-year-old has scored 29 goals and collected 35 assists.

Moreover, the same source also confirms two reports that emerged in the past days: the one that sees goaltender Luca Boltshauser remain with LHC for the next three seasons (confirmed by Svoboda), and the one regarding the Slovakian forward Libor Hudáček, who is expected to arrive in Lausanne on Thursday or Friday. In this case, Svoboda preferred not to comment on the situation.
