Although he is the Lakers' best goal scorer this season, Kevin Clark does not fit into the plans of team manager Janick Steinmann.

Kevin Clark has to leave the Lakers.

According to Blick, the 33-year-old forward has already known for a couple of months that his contract with the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers will not be extended. The reason is, according to team manager Janick Steinmann, "purely strategic."

Because the Lakers have extended the contracts of Roman Cervenka and Andrew Rowe (both forwards will stay until 2023) and the deal of Steve Moses is still valid until 2022, only one import-spot is left. "And because Dominik Egli will leave us, we will count on a foreign defenseman," Janick Steinmann tells Blick.

Kevin Clark, for his part, is the Lakers' undisputed top goal scorer this season with a total of 21 goals in 46 games so far.
