The ZSC Lions' season was terminated by Genève-Servette HC yesterday. For some players, it also means their time with the team is up. One of them might be netminder Lukas Flüeler, as the Blick writes.
Asked if the 32-year-old will be back next season, team manager Sven Leuenberger mentions that it would be possible. "We always look at everything. We turn over every stone after every season and see how we can improve. And if we find a solution somewhere, we will strive for it. That does not refer to the goalie alone". Leuenberger also states that Flüeler was not satisfactory.
On the subject of imports, Leuenberger comments "We will play with five foreigners if Pius Suter does not come back. If we have five good foreigners, we will certainly be stronger". Two of their current ones have contracts that are running out, namely Fredrik Pettersson and Ryan Lasch. They are both unlikely to return.
