"This is my last chance and I'm aware of that," the 28-year-old forward says to La Liberté when asked about a possible future in the NHL, where the Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired his rights in February. "But rather than rushing into it, I see it as another reason to mature my decision."
First and foremost, Hofmann is currently focused on the playoff final with EV Zug. "We're not in the playoff finals every year and my wish is to enjoy it fully," he says to the same source. "When the championship is over, I will make my choice and communicate it."
If EV Zug were to win the championship, however, Hofmann could only celebrate with the fans at a later date due to the pandemic. As CEO Patrick Lengwiler says to the Luzerner Zeitung an official party would have to be put on ice: "If we win the title, we will definitely celebrate, but just not until circumstances allow it."
