After eight years overseas and a stint in Sweden, Mirco Müller is back in Switzerland. He has agreed to a six-year deal with HC Lugano. It will be only his second time playing in the National League. The first time was as a junior during the 2011-12 season, when he made seven games for EHC Kloten.

In 2012, Müller went to North America and joined the WHL's Everett Silvertips. He was picked by the San Jose Sharks in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft (18th overall). His debut in the NHL came during the 2014-15 season. In 2017, after spending most of his time in the AHL, Müller was traded to the New Jersey Devils. Last summer, he did not receive a new contract in the NHL. Finally, in February, he joined SHL's Leksands IF.

The 26-year-old was part of the 2018 silver-medal-winning Swiss national team at the World Championship in Denmark. This year, he is again part of the national team for the World Championship in Latvia.
