Daugavins returns to Switzerland after eight years but will join another team

33-year-old Kaspars Daugavins has agreed to a two-year contract with the Bears, valid until the end of the 2022-23 season. Daugavins already played one season in Switzerland for Genève-Servette HC, albeit eight years ago.

Ever since his departure from GSHC, the Latvian has played in the KHL. Last season, he recorded 17 goals and 32 assists in 58 games for Vityaz Podolsk, thus reaching 49 points. This is the highest point total, he has ever had in his career in the KHL.

As for Timothy Kast, he will join SC Bern at the end of July for the start of the on-ice practice. The former Genève-Servette HC player will get a chance to earn himself a contract for the upcoming season.

SC Bern also confirms that they have hired Léo Girod as their new assistant coach and data analyst. The former Lausanne HC staff member already announced his departure from LHC back at the end of May.
