The 24-year-old forward most recently played for Lukko Rauma in Finland, scoring 27 goals and 18 assists in 54 games this past season. It is, therefore, not surprising that Langnau's team manager Marc Eichmann tells Watson: "He is on top of our list."
Saarela, however, might end up in the NHL. As the same source writes, this remains the players' main objective. During three seasons in North America earlier in his career, the Finn was not able to get a permanent spot on an NHL team and only played ten games for the Florida Panthers.
