Jiří Sekáč played most of his career in the KHL, suiting up for HC Lev Praha, Ak Bars Kazan. CSKA Mosva, and Avangard Omsk. From 2014 to 2016, he also tried his luck in the NHL, playing for the Montréal Canadiens, the Anaheim Ducks, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Arizona Coyotes.
Last season, Jiří Sekáč, who is also a fixture on the roster of the Czech national team, recorded ten goals and eleven assists in 34 regular-season games for Avangard Omsk.
