The 37-year-old Finn has agreed to a one-year contract with the Grenats and will arrive in Geneva on Friday.

Genève-Servette HC has found their fourth import player

Valtteri Filppula was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 2002 and has been playing in the NHL since 2005. The veteran forward suited up for the Red Wings, the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the New York Islanders.

After playing six seasons elsewhere, the Finn returned to the Detroit Red Wings in 2019. Last season, the forward recorded six goals and nine assists in 38 games. Filppula completes Genève-Servette HC's import-player quartet, the other members being Henrik Tömmernes, Daniel Winnik, and Marc-Antoine Pouliot.
