Apparently, Lausanne HC does no longer count on the services of their 32-year-old defenseman. SC Bern might be an option for him.

"We have contacted Lausanne. We are interested in Joël Genazzi," SC Bern's team manager Andrew Ebbett confirms to Klaus Zaugg (Watson). "He would fit very well in our defense. But we haven't received an answer yet. So we don't know if he will actually be released by Lausanne."

Even if Lausanne HC lets Genazzi leave, there is still a big question mark about the financial terms of a possible deal, as Ebbett also states.

Last Saturday, Genazzi did not reappear on the ice for the third period of LHC's game against the ZSC Lions - a decision by the coaches who apparently were not happy with his performance. According to 24 heures, several teams have inquired about Genazzi since then.
